Review Breakdown
-
Worth the Cost
Considering that Zermatt is a very costly market and for a 3-star super hotel, this is quite an excellent value because of the main location and maybe a view of the Matterhorn itself.
-
Service Quality
The service is the most prominent feature of this property, with an amicable, family-operated ambiance. It is well received by very amiable staff that provide more than could be expected from them.
-
Location Convenience
Good location, with a “Million Dollar View” of the Matterhorn and a three-minute walk to the top of the main Matterhorn Glacier Paradise lift.
-
Surroundings
An idyllic alpine village without cars. A safe and beautiful environment is complete with the sounds of a nearby river, hence very serene.
-
Cleanliness
Generally, the hotel keeps up to Swiss standards of cleanliness. The rooms, wellness area, and public spaces are always sparkling and well-kept.
-
Breakfast
Fabulous breakfast buffet, with fresh breads, local cheeses, and various meats muesli, eggs, and a good selection of ‘hot’ items.
-
Bed & Pillows
The beds are comfortable, warm, and cozy, with good-quality duvets. “Matterhorn view” rooms are pretty special.
-
Wi-Fi Performance
Free Wi-Fi is fast and reliable—a convenient planning requirement for mountain activities.
-
Hotel Freshness
Walking into the hotel feels traditional but pleasingly done in alpine style with lovely wood interiors creating a warm ‘chalet’ atmosphere.
-
Noise Level
Its quiet position just behind the main street, together with Zermatt being car-free, makes for an extremely peaceful night’s sleep.
-
Long Stay Suitability
Its prime position for summer hiking and winter skiing makes it perfect for a varied activity holiday in the Alps.
-
Parking Ease
As Zermatt is car free, this hotel's complementary electric taxi from the train station is a top-ranked necessary amenity.
