Near Hotel

The Hotel Garni Klein Matterhorn is just good for checking out all of Zermatt on foot. The main Matterhorn Express ski lift up to the Klein Matterhorn/Glacier Paradise is very important for skiers; this is within just 3-5 min’s from their hotel. The Gornergrat Bahn, a nice cogwheel train to take visitors up to a fantastic observatory, is only 10 minutes away on foot as well.

Bahnhofstrasse is the main street, and the lively, car-free center of town is just a 5-minute walk from there. The street overall boasts plenty of high-class watch and sportswear shops, charming bakeries, Coop and Migros supermarkets, and dozens of fine restaurants – from casual fondue 'stüblis' to gourmet dining. Additionally, you can have a short walk to the historic Old Village (Hinterdorf) with 16th-century wooden barns and chalets.

Close by, at the village center, is the Matterhorn Museum (Zermatlantis) – one learns there in depth about the stirring history of the mountain’s first conquest, all within a ten-minute stroll from your room.
