Reaching Hotel
Zermatt is a fusion of village and mountain resort; all travelers coming from the outside have to enter it through the train. For most international travelers, this would involve landing at Zurich (ZRH) or Geneva (GVA). By no means would your trip be incomplete from whichever airport; it is guaranteed to be comfortable and beautiful on a Swiss train bound for Visp. Once at Visp, you'll switch to their famous cogwheel railway, the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, which accomplishes the last, enchanting 75-minute trip up the valley into the Zermatt station. The total duration required from either Zurich or Geneva is around 3.5 to 4 hours.
If you are driving, you’ll have to park at the huge public parking garage in the village of Täsch; this is the last stop before Zermatt. From the Täsch terminal, take one of the very regular shuttle trains to Zermatt train station; it takes only 12 minutes.
Most importantly, when you get to the Zermatt train station, call Hotel Klein Matterhorn. They offer free electric taxi shuttle service to come pick you up and take you straight to the hotel, so you won’t have to walk the 15 minutes with your luggage.
